Vallejo Police Department to host town-hall Wednesday to discuss Use of Force policy - Vallejo Times-Herald

serongyu.blogspot.com

The Vallejo Police Department is holding a community town mall meeting on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Filipino Community Center located at 611 Amador Street in Vallejo.

The department is scheduled to host a community discussion on “Use of Force” and the proposed changes to the Use of Force policy. Vallejo residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft policy and provide feedback by visiting myvallejo.com.

VPD has been under controversy during the past decade with multiple officer-involved shootings including the deaths of Sean Monterrosa in 2020, Willie McCoy in 2019, Ronell Foster in 2018 and Angel Ramos in 2017.

Last week former Vallejo police officer Michael Kent Tribble testified in Solano Superior Court that he and retired officer Dan Golinveaux helped originate a badge-bending ritual back in 2000 while working for the Concord Police Department. Tribble said the ritual was “a way to signify the fact that we would stand up and do our job.” He said the ritual was not held solely for fatal shootings.
