Quarterback Mac Jones is off to a solid start in New England and now he is looking to create a brand for himself, which is reminiscent of what a certain other quarterback with the Patriots did before him. Just like how Tom Brady has profited off "TB12," Jones is looking to make "MJ10" a thing.
According to MassLive, the rookie has trademarked "MJ10" for use on "beanies, hats, pants, shirts, shoes, socks, sweaters, sweatpants, tank-tops, athletic jackets, athletic shirts, athletic shorts, athletic sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, long jackets."
Brady has transformed TB12 into something much bigger than just a slogan at this point, as the company publishes diet books and creates supplements as well. Jones is not nearly there yet, but the rookie trademarking "MJ10" is definitely a start.
As far as play on the field goes, Jones has helped lead the Patriots to an 8-4 record and first place in the AFC East. The first-round pick has played a part in putting the Patriots back on the playoff map after the team missed the postseason last year.
In New England, quarterbacks, or one in particular, have a history of winning. So far, so good for Jones -- with big games still pending. Another thing quarterbacks have done in New England is create a strong brand and Jones is in the process of following in those footsteps as well.
