Hershey Co. said its profit and sales for the second quarter rose, as it saw recovery in away-from-home consumption and international markets while at-home consumption continued.
The candy maker Thursday posted net income attributable to the company of $301.2 million, compared with $268.9 million a year earlier. Earnings were $1.45 a share, compared with $1.29 a share.
Adjusted earnings were $1.47 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting $1.43 a share.
Net sales rose 16.5% to $1.99 billion, the company said. Analysts were looking for $1.84 billion.
