An apartment community in one of Plano’s most successful mixed-use developments has changed hands.
A unit of California-based Fairfield Residential has purchased the Alexan Legacy Central apartments on U.S. Highway 75.
The rental community is part of the $300 million Legacy Central office, retail and residential complex at the southwest corner of Legacy Drive and North Central Expressway.
Built by Trammell Crow Residential, the 385-unit apartment property was completed early this year.
The five-story rental project was designed by JHP Architecture.
The new owner has renamed the property Jada Legacy Central. Rents in the property start at more than $1,100 a month.
The acquisition is San Diego-based Fairfield Residential’s second recent purchase in Plano.
The developer and investor just acquired the 320-unit Huntington apartments on Rasor Boulevard near Preston Road.
Fairfield Residential is a major owner and builder of apartments in North Texas and nationwide.
The Alexan Legacy Central is part of the 84-acre Legacy Central campus which was developed by Los Angeles-based Regent Properties.
In 2016, Regent Properties bought the former Texas Instruments campus on U.S. 75 and has redeveloped the existing commercial buildings as corporate offices for Samsung, Peloton and other businesses.
Regent Properties sold the apartment sites to Crow Residential for its projects.
