A Florida-based entertainment and restaurant venue operator has landed in Allen with its first North Texas location.

The Hub, which has operated successful projects in Florida since 2015, will build an almost 2.7-acre entertainment center — also called The Hub — in the first phase of the 135-acre mixed-use development called The Farm.

Developer JaRyCo in July disclosed plans for the project on State Highway 121 on the north side of Allen.

The Farm will include a combination of office, retail and residential space.

The Hub entertainment complex will be built next to a planned park. Described as a family-friendly entertainment center, the project will include a 2,000-square-foot stage for live music, movies and streaming sports shows.

There will be a 5,700-square-foot covered lawn space surrounded by restaurants, an ice cream shop, bars and retail.

The Hub will also have more than 15,000 square feet of covered dining space and almost 13,000 square feet of additional outdoor space for restaurant seating.

“The Hub perfectly aligns with our mission to create a master-planned, walkable community oriented around families,” said Bruce Heller, president of JaRyCo. “The Hub will be a natural gathering place for those who work or live at The Farm and the surrounding area,” Bruce Heller, president of JaRyCo, said in a statement. “As developers and operators, The Hub ensures its event spaces are activated daily.

“Plus, the open-air setup is perfect for today’s circumstances, allowing The Farm in Allen’s tenants and patrons to safely unwind in their own backyard.”

The project is scheduled to open in 2022.

“This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to continue our expansion in Texas, and provides The Farm in Allen with a dynamic shared space and daily events provided by The Hub’s own entertainment company that complement the community they’re developing,” Brad Zeitlin, founder and owner of The Hub, said in a statement. “It’s a place for friends, family and nearby office workers to get together, unwind and enjoy good, clean fun.

“The Hub transforms everyday experiences like grabbing a bite to eat, listening to some music or watching a game into something festive in an inviting space made for the community to share.”

JaRyCo plans to break ground on The Farm early next year.

Plans for the development at Sam Rayburn Tollway and Alma Drive include more than 1.6 million square feet of offices, 142,000 square feet of retail, a 150-room hotel, 60,000 square feet of restaurants, townhomes and 2,400 urban residential units.

Dallas’ Omniplan Architects and landscape architect TBG are designing the project.

The Hub is making the first land purchase in the development.

“The Hub will create an outdoor entertainment space at The Farm in Allen that is unparalleled in the region,” said Daniel Bowman, executive director of the Allen Economic Development Corp. “Having a stage and spacious lawn for live music and events, a diverse restaurant selection and a direct connection to the Allen trail system, this project clearly creates a lot of excitement for both our residents and office workers.”
