Trump blasts The Boss during campaign rally, refers to him as ‘Little Bruce Springsteen’ - NJ.com

President Donald Trump took aim at Bruce Springsteen during a campaign rally in Minnesota Thursday night.

While reminiscing about his victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, Trump said “I didn’t need Beyonce and Jay-Z...and I didn’t need little Bruce Springsteen," according to a report by Breitbart.com.

Springsteen criticized Trump in two 2016 interviews, calling the former Atlantic City casino magnate a “moron” and a “great embarrassment.”

“The whole thing is tragic,” Springsteen said of Trump’s campaign at the time. “Without overstating it, it’s a tragedy for our democracy.”

He has been a staunch supporter of high-profile Democrats in recent years, performing a private concert at the White House upon President Barack Obama’s departure in 2017, and performed in support of Hillary Clinton during her 2016 campaign.

The New Jersey rock legend also stopped one of his 2018 Broadway shows to denounce the “senior people in government” who have enacted immigration policies that have led to thousands of children being separated from their families.

He reportedly called the detainment and separation of more than 2,000 children over the weeks before the concert “inhumane.”
