In the wake of Prince Harry’s recent confirmation that he and brother Prince William are feuding, an old interview of William complaining about Harry has surfaced. Back when Prince Harry and Markle got engaged, Prince William was looking forward to getting his brother out of the house.
Prince Harry admitted the feud rumors are true
Prince Harry confirmed that the rumors of a rift between him and Prince William are true, sharing in an interview for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey that they have “good and bad days.”
Harry admitted that there may have been some tension with their “different paths” and the pressures of their royal duties. He shared: “Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under… inevitably, you know, stuff happens.”
He continued: “But, look, we’re brothers. We’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.”
Prince Harry noted that having their own families also makes it harder to see one another, explaining, “We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy, but I love him dearly. The majority of stuff is created out of nothing.”
He further admitted that it’s not out of the ordinary for siblings to have differences, noting, “But as brothers, you have good days and you have bad days.”
Prince William dished on the frustrations of living with Prince Harry
When Prince Harry and Markle first got engaged, Prince William reacted to the news and poked a little fun at his brother as well.
Following a charity event he attended in Finland in 2017, when asked about the engagement, he shared: “The family is all very excited, delighted for them both and wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time.”
He continued: “And for me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge, and stop him scrounging off all my food like he’s done over the last few years. I’m pretty excited.”
He continued: “It’s a fantastic process to go through — the engagement and the buildup to the wedding. They’ve got a lot of happy times ahead of him and they’re very caught up in the moment and I wish them all the happiness and success in planning the wedding. I hope it goes really well.”
They used to be closer
The brothers were once very close, as Willam remarked at an event for the Campaign Against Living Miserably charity in January 2018. He shared: “My brother and I’s relationship is closer than it’s been because of the situations we’ve been through.”
He added: “Losing our mother at a young age has helped us to travel through that difficult patch together. You’re like-minded. You go through similar things, it’s a bond and it’s something you know you’ve tackled together and come out better for it.”
