The Hoboken Zoning Board of Adjustment approved a mixed-use development called “The Boundary,” which will create 50,000 square feet of space for commercial and medical office space, retail, multifamily units, and a parking garage.
The project, developed by JDA Group, will stretch across Hoboken at 50 Harrison Street and Jersey City at 2 Hoboken Avenue.
‘Sense of place’
“Our vision for The Boundary is to be the core of the neighborhood, creating a walkable environment with adjacent and incorporated parks, much-needed retail space, doctors’ offices, corporate and entrepreneurial workspaces, and other community needs,” said JDA Group CEO Greg Dell’Aquila in a press release. “We’re creating a sense of place that complements the entire surrounding neighborhood, Hoboken, and Jersey City.”
The project will start by expanding the existing Mission 50 building, a co-working space owned by the company. The plan includes ground-floor retail, expanding to six stories, and creating an indoor/outdoor event space on the fourth floor. The plan features a new six-story medical office building, 40,000 square feet of retail space, and a four-story parking garage with a green park on top. A through street will connect to the Hoboken grid.
Last year, Jersey City approved its part of The Boundary, which includes a 192-unit, 13-story apartment building with nine floors of residential space over four stories of sparking, and 11,500 square feet for retail.
