Laura Dern‘s family served as her dates to Oscars 2020.
The 52-year-old star, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in “Marriage Story,” brought her famous mother, actress Diane Ladd, and her children — son Ellery Harper, 18, and daughter Jaya Harper, 15 — to the awards show Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Dern, dressed in a black-and-pink Armani Privé gown, shares Ellery and Jaya with ex-husband Ben Harper. Dern is also the daughter of actor Bruce Dern, though Ladd and Bruce divorced in 1969.
Laura is expected to win in her category, as she’s been sweeping the prize throughout awards season.
“It feels like really good, loving energy. We’re all close friends … It’s got a very special feeling,” Dern told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. “I’m here with my mom, Diane Ladd, and my children.”
“A family affair,” Seacrest noted.
“It really is,” Dern responded, “so it makes me very happy.”
